A POETRY EXCURSION WITH GORDON
On Monday, November 28 at 1:00pm at the Senior Center, join Gordon Postill for an engaging 60 minutes of poetry recitation and introspection. Using an understated delivery, Gordon recites from memory poems of universal appeal by renowned poets such as Mary Oliver, Wendell Berry, Jane Kenyon, and W. H. Auden with themes like hope, grief, affection, death and longing‐works which will move you to contemplate your own life’s journey. Each poem will be recited twice for clarity, followed by ample time for personal and shared reflections. A poetry excursion will engage your heart and spirit, priming the pump for what really matters. Ordained in 1980 by The United Church of Canada, Gordon is a retired Board‐Certified Chaplain. He received his Master of Divinity Degree from Emmanuel College in Toronto and his Doctor of Ministry Degree from BU. After serving congregations in Nova Scotia and Ontario, Gordon provided spiritual care to hospice patients and families in Florida and Massachusetts for the last 24 years of his ministry prior to retiring in 2015 to care for his now late wife Robin who had become stricken with early‐onset Alzheimer’s. His critically‐acclaimed memoir “Called! A Longshot’s Story” (www.gordonpostill.com) was published in September 2021. Please register at 617‐730‐2770.
