Brookline Arts Center
Founded in 1964, the Brookline Arts Center (BAC) has a reputation throughout Greater Boston for being one of the most forward-thinking and comprehensive arts centers around. We serve over 5,000 individuals of all ages, backgrounds and abilities each year through classes and workshops, community outreach programs, exhibitions, public art activities and special events within and beyond our walls.
We are deeply committed to providing high quality experiences in the arts for our students and community. Whether you are 2 or 92, there is an art opportunity and community here for you!
The Brookline Arts Center (BAC) began as a small parent cooperative for children’s art classes in the basement of Mim and Barney Berliner’s Brookline home. It was administered by volunteers and taught by a professional artist. Since 1968, the BAC has been a nonprofit educational charitable institution, 501(c)3, serving as a community center for the visual arts for Brookline and Greater Boston.
