Brookline Community Foundation
As the only foundation focused on addressing the needs of Brookline as a whole, the Brookline Community Foundation (BCF) marshals resources to address emerging community needs and shared challenges. Nowhere was this unique role more evident than during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thanks to an outpouring of generosity from the community, BCF awarded $550,000 in safety net grants to help support friends & neighbors’ essential needs during this crisis. Combined with our flagship grantmaking and scholarship programs, BCF has provided over $1,000,000+ in support to community nonprofits and efforts since June, 2020.
For over 100 years, The Brookline Community Foundation (BCF) has been a trusted community partner -- supporting Brookline by identifying emerging needs, serving as a steadfast convener, and deploying resources to address our shared challenges. From our first days as the Brookline Friendly Society to our strategic shift toward empowerment through grantmaking and capacity building at the turn of the 21st century, BCF has helped shape Brookline’s agenda for community stability and well-being while creating new opportunities along the way.
Today, BCF is continuing this legacy of community-centric innovation by focusing our efforts on creating opportunity and promoting equity through the transformative power of giving. By leveraging our core strengths in building philanthropic partnerships, supporting nonprofits and community efforts through grantmaking, and driving the research that informs a shared community agenda, we can help build a better Brookline for all who live, learn, work, and play in our community.
