Burro Bar
A neighborhood Mexican kitchen and tequila bar, The Burro Bar is the smaller sibling of The Painted Burro in Somerville which captures the Latin American energy through its playful menu of inspired Mexican fare in a lively, welcoming setting. With splashes of influence from Baja and Oaxaca to Veracruz and Yucatan, Chef/Owner Joe Cassinelli’s dishes showcase a creative, fun side of familiar flavors for a dynamic, yet relaxed dining experience. This is the fifth restaurant from Alpine Restaurant Group, after Somerville’s Posto, The Painted Burro, The Rosebud American Kitchen & Bar and The Painted Burro in Waltham.
The inspiration for the menu comes from regions of Mexico and the Yucatan with splashes from South America. The modern approach to cuisine with a respect for tradition is exemplified throughout dishes where ingredients and local produce take center stage. A tequila list with over 100 bottles that are handpicked and “Burro tested and approved” are featured and available in 1 oz. or 2 oz. tastings or in their Margaritas which showcase the pure flavors of the tequila. The Burro Bar also offers an impeccable cocktail, cerveza and wine list. In addition to margaritas, guests can enjoy mezcal and tequila cocktails, vodka cocktails and rum cocktails that transcend the Mexican borders.
