The Brookline Chamber of Commerce is in the news!
David Gladstone, Brookline Chamber of Commerce Board President, had the vision for creating a technical assistance workshop series. Chamber staff established the menu of classes to meet the needs of local businesses in the “new normal,” and applied for a MA Growth Capital Grant.
Cecilia Nardi, Director of Community Relations in the Office of Government & Community Affairs, at Boston University, and Chamber Board Member, introduced us to Jeanne Levesque, Director of Government Relations, Boston College, and Board President of Brighton Main Streets.
Jeanne recommended our presenter, Joanna Baltes, Adjunct Professor for the M.S. Cybersecurity Policy and Governance Program, and a member of the Business Advisory Council for the Cyber and National Security Programs at Boston College’s Woods College, for the Cyber Security workshops.
Jeanne and Aiden McDonough, the Executive Director of Brighton Main Streets, helped us recruit Brighton businesses. Cecilia Nardi introduced us to Patricia Hambrick, Master Lecturer, Marketing, Boston University Questrom School of Business, who got the word out to professors in her department and at the School of Communications.
The Chamber invited professors to apply, interviewed them, and hired a “dream team” of presenters, including Joanna Baltes, Patricia Hambrick, Susan Jung Grant, Innovator, Founder, Strategist - Clinical Associate Professor at Boston University, Kim Donlan, CMO, Brand Strategist, Marketing Professor, and Messaging Expert, and Amy Shanler, Co-Director, BU PR Lab, Associate Professor of the Practice, Public Relations, Boston
University.
Participating Brookline and Brighton businesses are an exceptional mix of dedicated retail, restaurant, and service providers. Workshops are lively, informative, and in some cases life changing.
